EN ES FR

With a history of conflict, Côte d’Ivoire has high rates of population growth and maternal mortality, with many citizens living in poverty. Since 1972, UNFPA has supported measures to improve living conditions, including through a national census to identify development needs, and to enact policies regarding national population, reproductive health and gender equality. Current assistance aims to increase the provision and use of quality reproductive health services, including family planning, and to support greater national capabilities to carry out population and gender-equality policies.
