UNFPA Lesotho

One of the least developed nations in the world, Lesotho is a landlocked country where many people live below the poverty line. It faces major challenges, including high HIV prevalence and a high maternal mortality rate. UNFPA initiatives in Lesotho include providing support to reduce maternal mortality; to prevent HIV, particularly among youth; to reduce gender inequality; and to develop quality data related to population issues.
