UNFPA Cameroon
Cameroon struggles with development deficits including maternal mortality, unemployment among its large youth population, high illiteracy rates and an HIV epidemic. UNFPA has supported the implementation of national health strategies and the development of data-management tools. It helps to boost the supply and demand for reproductive health care services, by delivering secure systems to provide contraceptives and greater access to emergency obstetric care. Programmes also focus on promoting gender equality and youth policies, as well as preventing gender-based violence.
