Azerbaijan Humanitarian Emergency

In May 2025, UNFPA concluded its Country Office operations in Azerbaijan. Over its 30-year presence in the country, UNFPA played a key role in assisting the Government and other national and local partners to improve maternal health, combat gender-based violence, and promote evidence-based population policies grounded in evidence. UNFPA's engagement with Azerbaijan will continue through its Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, as well as its headquarters.
