Afghanistan Humanitarian Emergency

The political upheaval in Afghanistan compounds the humanitarian crises wrought by decades of conflict, extreme weather events and COVID-19. Millions of people were already internally displaced before the Taliban takeover in August 2021, and the situation continues to deteriorate. UNFPA is on the ground working with partners to provide access to reproductive health and protection services for women and girls.
