UNFPA supports initiatives in Chile including improving women’s and adolescents’ access to sexual and reproductive health care and maternal health supplies, with the ultimate goal of delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.

A Maternity and Disability Protocol was prepared to develop a comprehensive assessment of maternity care services and identify implementation gaps for women with disabilities

The first verbal autopsy form for maternal mortality (via interviews with next of kin or caregivers to determine cause of death) was developed with a gender-and rights-based approach, exploring socio-cultural, economic and other variables in cases of late maternal deaths, beyond the biomedical reasons

The new Comprehensive Law on Violence against Women and Girls was published, placing particular emphasis on obstetric-gynecological violence

Chile’s first Intersectoral Table on Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergencies was established in the Arica Parinacota Region

The National Supply Centre is now familiar with the SALMI platform and its benefits for last-mile traceability
