The recent UNFPA Megabid introduces new Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) delivering significant benefits in affordability, availability, and quality for UNFPA procurement partners. Despite global cost pressures, the Megabid achieved a 14% price reduction for Interagency Reproductive Health Kits and an 8.52% decrease for Midwifery and Fistula Kits.
The new agreements also bring a substantial expansion and availability to the product and supplier portfolio, including 46 new pharmaceutical and medical devices for maternal health, and three new medical kits: IUD Insertion/Removal, Contraceptive Implant Insertion/Removal, and Minilaparotomy.
These new agreements will be available in the UNFPA Product Catalogue by the end of June 2025, offering partners greater flexibility, better value, and a wider product selection to improve access to reproductive health supplies for women, girls and young people worldwide.
