The Position:
The Population and Development Branch within the Programme Division ensures linkages between broader population variables and megatrends and development agendas, and links UNFPA's mandate to the global development agenda of the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Programme of Action (PoA), and other international and regional commitments and country development plans. The branch will spell out the incredible importance of the role of population dynamics, patterns and trends (demographic diversity, gender, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), climate, technology, population movements, social and economic changes), for the development agenda and for global, regional, and country priorities.
