UN Launches Mass Appeal for Pakistan Flood Relief

UNITED NATIONS — The United Nations launched an appeal Wednesday for $460 million in emergency aid to support relief efforts in flood-ravaged Pakistan. Funds will be used to provide food, water, shelter and emergency medical care. Chinese authorities have indicated a willingness to increase aid assistance to Pakistan after the U.S. and British governments vowed additional emergency funds.
