The Policy and Procedures for Publications supports coordinated, coherent and strategic publishing and ensures production of high-quality external publications are aligned with institutional goals and corporate communication priorities. The Policy reinforces the objective of speaking with one voice, as set out in the UNFPA Communications Strategy.

This policy assists UNFPA personnel, our partners and celebrity advocates in designing, managing and implementing the UNFPA Celebrity Spokespersons Programme. It outlines UNFPA’s working methods with celebrity spokespersons and identifies control actions to mitigate potential risks related to the process.

The Policy and Procedures for Security Accountability establishes the Framework of Accountability for UNFPA and details the safety and security roles and responsibilities of all actors within UNFPA.

The UNFPA Policy on Financial Disclosure and Declaration of Interest sets forth the requirements for participation in the UNFPA Financial Disclosure program, and explains the process for financial disclosures and declarations of interest.

The Policy for Outside Activities and/or Honors, Decorations, Favors, Gifts, Awards, Remuneration from Outside Parties clarifies the nature of prohibited non-UNFPA/non-United Nations (“outside”) activities, the conditions under which UNFPA staff members shall seek authorization for outside activities, and identifies those types of outside activities that do not require any authorization. Furthermore, it explains the circumstances under which staff members may accept an honor, decoration, favor, gift, award or remuneration from outside entities.

This policy is intended to ensure that information concerning UNFPA programmes and operations is available to the public, with some exceptions. UNFPA considers public access to information a key component of effective participation of all.
