Colombia is facing a complex, protracted, and rapidly intensifying humanitarian crisis driven by the escalation of internal armed conflict, rising levels of social violence, floods, and forced displacement. More than 6.9 million people in Colombia require humanitarian assistance, in addition to 3.5 million refugees and migrants within the country who are also in urgent need of support.
UNFPA has provided essential sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services to 2,289 people, including provision of life-saving SRH information, SRH case management for high-risk pregnancies, and family planning services. In addition, 997 people received group psychosocial support and life-saving information on gender-based violence, allowing them to enhance their protective factors against gender-based violence.
For UNFPA, an urgent US $1.84 million is required to sustain life-saving services for 53,595 vulnerable women and adolescents as the crisis continues to intensify in Colombia.
