Job description

Position Summary

The Procurement Specialist position is located in the UNFPA West and Central Regional Office (UNFPA/WCARO) in Dakar/Senegal in the Regional Service Secretariat (RTS) of the SWEDD Project and reports to the Project Coordinator. The incumbent supervises the Administrative Associate of the SWEDD Project. This post specifically serves the procurement and contracting needs of the RTS activities and advice also on procurement needs for all SWEDD Countries Offices.

Qualifications and Experience 

Education:

  • University degree in commerce, business administration or related field.
  • Advanced university degree in business administration, procurement or related field.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least 5 years progressively responsible experience in procurement operations in a multicultural environment.

Languages:

  • Working knowledge (proficiency/LeveI C) of English a requirement.
  • Limited knowledge (intermediate/Level B) of another UN official language is preferable.
