The Procurement Associate position is located in the UNFPA office in Freetown, Sierra with the with the Operations Team and reports to the International Operations Manager.  The post specifically services the procurement and contracting needs of Country Office, and project requirements within the country.

In direct support of UNFPA’s Country Programme to achieve the ICPD goals and SDGs, and in connection with the Procurement Policy formulation and strategic thinking, ensure proper and effective use of UNFPA’s resources.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

· Completed secondary level education is required; a university degree in business or any other relevant field is preferable.

· Certification in procurement, and Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) certification is highly desirable.

· Certification or training related to humanitarian logistics is essential  

Knowledge and Experience

·  Six years of relevant professional experience in procurement, logistics and administration;

·  Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages and advance knowledge of web based management systems;

·  Experience in working with the UN or development agencies is desirable;

Languages

Fluency in English
