Job description
The Position:
Defining the main principles for the creation of new jobs, organizational structures, changes of the organizational structures and performance effectiveness is the responsibility of the Organizational Design and Performance Specialist. The post is located in the HR Programs Unit of the Division for Human Resources (DHR) in New York. The Organizational Design and Performance Specialist reports to the Chief, Career Development and Talent Mobility.
Job Purpose:
The HR Specialist, Organizational Design and Performance develops and executes best in class organizational design and performance management initiatives, programs and practices that drive. The OD and Performance Specialist influences organizational behavior by demonstrating the linkages between managing employee performance and organizational results, analyzes the impact of employee performance interventions on organizational performance and provides technical advice and periodic reports to management.
The OD and Performance Specialist designs, executes and/or supports, HR related OD interventions and change management initiatives applying sound organization development methods and advises on complex HR initiatives/realignments involving aspects of change management and/or organizational development.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Advanced degree from an accredited university in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or other relevant social sciences.
Knowledge and Experience:
● Seven years of relevant progressively responsible relevant experience, some of which should be in a company with global presence or an international organization;
● Strong demonstrated capabilities in the delivery of organizational performance improvement through people performance in a complex multicultural environment;
● Strong track record in organizational development interventions from diagnosis to implementation;
● Demonstrated success in project management;
● Proven success in change management interventions in international environments;
● Demonstrated excellence in process facilitation;
● Highly developed analytical skills;
● Ability to quickly build credibility;
● Advanced collaboration, communication and influencing skills.
Languages:
Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French and/or Spanish, is desirable.
