The Committee for the United Nations Population Award has selected two laureates for 2025, in the “Individual” and “Institution” categories, in recognition of outstanding contributions to population and reproductive health issues and solutions.
The recipients will be announced on 10 July and honoured the following day in an award ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. EST. The event will also be broadcast on UN Web TV.
The laureates are selected each year by the Committee for the United Nations Population Award, which consists of eight Member States, alongside UNFPA and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs as ex officio members. UNFPA serves as the Secretariat. The award, established by the General Assembly in 1981, was first presented in 1983 and includes a gold medal, a diploma and a monetary prize.
