UNFPA/Yuntong Man

The Executive Board will hold its first regular session of the year from 2–5 February, with UNFPA Executive Director Ms. Diene Keita giving a statement to introduce the UNFPA segment on the morning of 4 February.

On the afternoon of 4 February, UNFPA will present a multi-year costed evaluation plan for 2026–2029, among other matters. On the afternoon of 5 February, UNFPA will discuss matters related to country programmes.

Made up of representatives of 36 countries who serve on a rotating basis, the Executive Board provides intergovernmental support to and supervision of the activities of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS, in accordance with the policy guidance of the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the United Nations Charter.

The Executive Board ensures that UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS remain responsive to the evolving needs of programme countries, and supports the work of UNFPA in delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.

In carrying out its work, UNFPA counts on the support, guidance and counsel of the Executive Board. The board sessions, which are held three times a year, are broadcast on UN Web TV
