Active in Senegal since 1975, UNFPA supports the reduction of maternal mortality, as well as reproductive rights and access to reproductive and sexual health services for the most vulnerable segments of the population. While the number of maternal deaths has been declining slightly and contraceptive prevalence has been increasing, faster progress is needed.
