The Somalia 2023 Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO) estimates that half of the population, about 8.25 million people, require assistance.

The humanitarian situation in Somalia remains one of the most complex in the world, impacting millions of people. The country is facing challenges including forced displacements, climatic shocks, drought, flash floods and armed conflict. UNFPA is delivering life-saving services.

This nationwide response plan focuses on the enormous sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and gender-based violence (GBV) needs in Ethiopia as a consequence of multiple shocks, including the influx of refugees and returnees to Ethiopia as a result of the recent conflict in Sudan.

The response plan provides an analysis of the core humanitarian issues at national and regional levels, defines SRH and GBV needs and UNFPA strategies to respond, and has a funding request of $48,200,085 to reach 9,800,000 people with assistance, including 2,450,000 women of reproductive age.
