Sri Lanka is experiencing its worst economic crisis since its independence in 1948, with serious consequences for the most vulnerable people. It is estimated that nearly 5.3 million people are now in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, including 5.4 million women of reproductive age.
UNFPA is responding by supporting sexual and productive health and preventing and responding to gender-based violence.
