When disaster strikes, UNFPA ensures that the reproductive health needs and protection concerns of women and girls are integrated into emergency responses. One of the ways in which UNFPA supports women and girls in the aftermath of natural disasters is by providing ‘dignity kits.’

Nepal earthquake: Women and girls in need

The disaster in Nepal has affected 2 million women and girls of reproductive age and 126,000 pregnant women, according to estimates as of 29 April 2015. UNFPA is responding with reproductive health supplies and dignity kits, and is working to prevent gender-based violence.
