“I want my baby safe, this is all I need.” Supporting women and girls in Myanmar after Cyclone Mocha tears a path of destruction

Access to information and contraceptive services gives a woman the choice to confidently build the life she wants to lead – where to live, what career or studies to pursue, who to have a relationship with and whether and when to start a family.
The campaign features the stories of 11 women from different parts of the world who experienced different forms of digital violence.
An estimated 121 million pregnancies per year take place in the bodies of women who did not choose pregnancy or motherhood, who were not planning to have a child at that time, with that partner, in those circumstances. Nothing is more fundamental to bodily autonomy than the ability to decide whether or not to become pregnant. Yet for too many, the most life-altering reproductive choice is no choice at all.
Girls should not be sacrificed for her family’s economic salvation, poverty being a driver of child marriage. Let a girl be a girl. And let a woman’s wedding day be unforgettable for the right reasons, with tears shed for joy to celebrate beginnings, not for sorrow to mourn endings.

This evaluation aims to generate evidence and lessons to provide a set of clear, forward-looking and actionable recommendations for the next programme cycle of UNFPA Cambodia by supplying an independent assessment of the relevance, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability of UNFPA support, including coverage and connectedness in the humanitarian contexts. The evaluation also aims to assess the ability of UNFPA Cambodia to respond and adapt to changing contexts (including but not limited to COVID-19), new emerging issues, and national priorities.
