The evaluation aims to demonstrate accountability for the performance of the fifth-country programme of UNFPA Kazakhstan. It also aims to support evidence-based decision-making to inform the development of the next country programme. The evaluation focused on UNFPA contribution to changing discriminatory social norms in Kazakhstan to accelerate the reduction in the unmet need for family planning and the reduction of gender-based violence.

Protecting trans people's rights during emergencies in Bangladesh

During her recent visit to Bangladesh, UNFPA Executive Director Dr. Natalia Kanem met transgender people affected by a lack of access to urgent care during floods and cyclones in the district of Gaibandha, in the far northwest of the country.

In this video, she explains how important it is to ensure that LGBTQIA+ people receive the same relief as everyone else, especially during humanitarian crises.
