UNFPA works to expand the possibilities for women and young people to lead healthy and productive lives in South Africa, supporting initiatives related to sexual and reproductive health services, gender equality and empowerment of women and girls, the empowerment of young people, and population and development. The goal is to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.
