Socio-Cultural Influences on the Reproductive Health of Migrant Women: A Review of Literature in Viet Nam

Studies From Asia and Latin America

This publication has been prepared by the UNFPA Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO) in collaboration with the UNFPA Viet Nam Country Office. The review was initiated by the UNFPA Technical Division, New York, with funds from the Gender, Human Rights and Culture branch, and guidance from Azza Karam, Senior Socio-cultural Adviser. Special thanks are extended to Vu Hoang Lan, Ha Noi School of Public Health, the principle author of the review, and to Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, her research assistant, who worked far beyond the initial remit to ensure that information provided in the report was relevant, accurate and as extensive as possible. Dr. Vu’s recommendation that the report be translated to ensure wider readership has resulted in a Vietnamese version also being made available.
