Position Summary:

The Programme Associate, Logistics works closely with the National Programme Analyst RHCS on the day to day forecasting, ordering and tracking of RH commodities, in-country clearing, storage, receiving, recording and distribution. His/her role is to facilitate a fully accountable, smoothly functioning, well-managed and results-oriented delivery and distribution of RH commodities procured by UNFPA. The Commodity Logistics officer closely collaborates with the programme and operational staff in the Country Office.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

-Completed Secondary Level Education required. First level university degree is an asset.

Knowledge and Experience:

-6 years of relevant experience in providing support to programme/ project management related to procurement and supply chain management, as well as inventory management for commodities, equipment and supplies;

-Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems.

-Strong written and oral communications skills;

-Ability to organize effectively, work under pressure with attention to detail, precision and accuracy;

-Dedication to UN principles and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with persons of different national background.

-Short-listed candidates may be required to successfully complete a UNFPA position related test.

Languages:

-Fluency in written and verbal English is required.  Knowledge of a second UN language is an advantage.
