Job description

The Payments team is responsible for HQ business unit payments; to provide support services to HQ units in the areas of payments, accounting and financial management; oversee the payroll process and reconcile payroll interface; regular aging of parables with action taken on old balances; review and reconcile a range of balance sheet accounts.   The incumbent will provide support to headquarters (HQ) units and field offices (FO-s) in the areas of Accounts Payable (AP) and ensure AP transactions at HQs are timely processed, complete and accurate and assist in year-end closure activities.

  Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of secondary education. Additional training in accounting at the post-secondary level, desirable
  • 5 years finance-related work experience - accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance or similar
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to organize effectively work under pressure with attention to detail, precision and accuracy
  • Knowledge of and experience in the use of Atlas would be considered an asset
  • Dedication to UN principles and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with persons of different background
  • Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset
