Job description

Job Purpose

The Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist post is located in the Evaluation Office, New York.  S/he will be responsible for the following duties:    

  • Leadership of the Evaluation Office communications and knowledge management strategy;
  • Effective coordination and procurement of the design and management of EO evaluation reports, briefings, presentations, infographics and multimedia materials;
  • Timely coordination of analytical support to the Evaluation Office corporate planning, reporting and briefing;
  • Maintenance and evolution of repositories of knowledge;
  • Coordination of Evaluation Office communication products;
  • Contribution to activities of evaluation capacity development and quality assurance;
  • Evaluation Office corporate management.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  •  Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in information and communication technology, public policy, economics, political science or social development. 
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Solid knowledge and experience in knowledge sharing, including e-platforms and designing systems for government, international organizations or NGO;
  • Solid capabilities and experience in evaluation capacity development and quality assurance in big decentralized organizations;
  • Ability to think and work logically and work precisely with attention to detail;
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely;
  • Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members of different national and cultural backgrounds;
  • Knowledge of specialized software applied to evaluation, including IT knowledge to establish and maintain databases and tracking system;
  • Demonstrable interest in communication, including evidence of uptake and use.

Languages:

  • For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of French or Spanish is an advantage.
