The specific objectives of this evaluation were to (i) provide an independent assessment of the progress of the programme towards the expected outputs and outcomes set forth in the results framework of the country programme; (ii) provide an assessment of the country office positioning within the development community and national partners, in view of its ability to respond to national needs while adding value to the country development results; and (iii) document lessons learned from the past cooperation that could inform the formulation of the 5th Country Programme of UNFPA support to the Government of South Africa.
